How It Works
The whole Crochet League challenge cycle, step by step.
1. New challenges open regularly
We run crochet challenges on a regular basis. Each challenge has its own theme or task - for example, a specific pattern or type of project - plus a clear submission deadline. You can always find the current challenge on the challenges page.
2. Sign up and join
Participation is free. Create an account with your email or sign in with Google, then press Join on the challenge page. Joining is how we know you're taking part - you can join before you've finished (or even started) your work, and you can leave while the challenge is still open.
3. Complete the task
Crochet your piece according to the challenge theme and requirements. The work must be your own - created by you, for this challenge.
4. Submit your result
Upload a photo of your finished work on the challenge page before the deadline. Each participant gets one submission per challenge, and you can replace your photo at any time while submissions are open.
5. Judging
After the deadline, submissions are locked and judged by real people on our team - compared in pairs across three categories: Execution, Color & Design, and Presentation. Category places convert to points that are summed into a total score, which determines the final places. Read How Judging Works for the full process.
6. Results, points, and prizes
When judging is confirmed, final places are published and every participant earns points toward their leaderboard total - the better you place, the more points you get. The top three entries also receive prizes (such as store coupons). You'll get a notification with your result.
7. Community
Challenges are more fun together. Discuss the task, share progress, and comment on submissions in the community chat and on each challenge's discussion thread.
8. Repeat
When one challenge wraps up, the next one opens - keep entering to climb the leaderboard, collect wins, and improve your craft alongside the community.
